Objects that inspire me right now

Inspiration does not always come from grand gestures. More often, it comes from the small, the tactile, and the everyday objects that quietly improve life. Here are a few that have been on my mind lately:

  • A 1980s Porsche 911: not because it is rare or untouchable, but because it represents design as evolution. A form refined over decades, never radically reinvented, always subtly improved. It is a reminder that iteration can be as powerful as invention.

  • A well-worn skateboard: an object that gains character with use. Every scratch tells a story, every mark is earned. It is the opposite of disposable design, it grows better the longer you live with it.

  • Books like The Making of Prince of Persia: not only a window into creative history, but a reminder that behind every product are years of hidden process, uncertainty, and persistence.

  • A Leica camera: not for its prestige, but for its honesty. A tool built to last decades, designed with clarity, where every detail serves the act of seeing.

  • The espresso cup on my desk: perhaps the most ordinary of all. Yet in its daily ritual, it embodies what design is really about, making the familiar feel meaningful.

Objects inspire me because they carry philosophies within them. They remind me that design is not abstract, it is lived. Every product we choose shapes our environment, our habits, and even our state of mind. To surround yourself with good objects is to give yourself a daily reminder of what matters.
